Over the years Bitmain has developed a reputation thanks to its Bitcoin miners all over the world as a transparent hardware manufacturer to reckon with. Its Antminers are popular for their 16nm ASIC chips with monstrous harsh rates that make huge profits for miners. Despite the recent Antbleed rumors, the company has maintained its ground as one of the industry leaders, giving Bitcoin enthusiasts what they deserve – reliable and efficient hardware!

At the moment, with over 70% market share, Bitmain contribution to the Bitcoin computing network is growing larger every day. Together with a team of expert engineers who are always pushing the boundary to achieve new improvements, Jihan Wu (the Current CEO) has expressed interest in upscaling the company’s hardware to enable its users to realize their full potential.

Looking at all its contributions, it goes without saying that the newly introduced Antminer T9 is not only a game changer in the cryptocurrency space but also an efficient and affordable hardware any Bitcoin enthusiast would appreciate. It is a successor to the Antminer S9 and deploys the same technology with a design that takes advantage of Moore's Law.

If you want to get your feet wet and get a piece of the pie in the world of Bitcoin mining, you will be glad to have read this review, because the Antminer T9 has been developed for people like you. Sit back and relax as we inform you some of the top benefits of this hardware, including answers to some of the common questions that people ask about it.

Top 5 benefits of the Antminer T9

1. Respectable Hash Rate

Although the Antminer T9 doesn't quite match up to the S9, it comes really close at a hash rate of about 11.5TH/s. When compared to the Antminer S9 that comes with a 14 TH/s, the T9 is your next best shot at owning a killer miner for a reasonable price.

2. Efficient Power Consumption

Power consumption in any mining hardware is an important feature simply because it can determine the profit margins you make. Luckily, the power consumption of the Antminer T9 is favorable to anyone trying to reduce electricity costs since it only consumes 1450W for its hash rate.

3. Profitable

The golden rule in cryptocurrency mining is that your mining activities have to bring in profit. After all, what is the point of mining if you don't get rewards right? The good news is that with the current Bitcoin exchange rate and its mining difficulty level the T9 can bring in about 0.09BTC per month translating to over $400 per month.

4. Affordable

When compared to its predecessor the Antminer S9, the T9 comes at a very reasonable price tag that ranges in between $1100 and $1300, depending on where you buy it. Although you will have to live with its lower hash rate, you will be happy to find out that it is a small sacrifice to pay for its performance and profit.

5. Quality Performance

Most Antminer S9 fans have been wondering why Bitmain had to introduce another Antminer after the S9 got very popular in the mining industry. The truth, however, is that the T9 is a much more stable miner with high-quality chips that are modified for great performance.

Top 10 Questions About the Antminer T9

1. Where can I buy it?

It's easy to get your hands on the Antminer T9. Since its release early this year, Bitmain shipped orders at about $1056.You can check out Bitmain online retail store and order one from there or look for a bargain on Amazon or eBay.

2. How does it compare to other Antminers from Bitmain?

Frankly, the closest comparison to the T9 is the Antminer S9.  And yes, the Antminer S9 comes with a much larger hash rate and at a higher price tag but in terms of performance, there is little that sets the two apart. Both miners come with pretty much the same fan setup meaning you can expect similar noise levels when hashing. In case you need a quieter miner the R4 is your best choice. Also, power consumption between the S9 and theT9 is almost the same at 1450W. The biggest difference apart from the hash rate is that the T9 is more affordable than the S9.

3. What is PSU recommended for the T9?

Here you have the freedom of choice since the T9 is usually sold separately from its power supply, which gives you some flexibility. You can go ahead to select the power supply that works best for your hardware. However, Bitmain recommends that you use the Antminer APW5 or the APW3, both designed to achieve maximum performance from the T9 at efficient electricity consumption rates.

4. Is it expensive to maintain?

Of course not! The T9 is not only the latest but also one of the most reliable Antminers from Bitmain. In fact, when compared to the S9  (its main rival), the T9 comes on top in terms of maintenance since it features modified ASIC chips that have better reliability even with their higher voltage consumption. This, therefore, means that you will spend much less time replacing and repairing your miners especially if you have a large mining firm.

5. How efficient is the T9?

We already mentioned that Antminer T9 consumes about 1450W with an efficiency of 0.126Joules/GH. Although this is high in comparison to the S9 that only consumes 1078W, you can easily solve this problem by underclocking your T9 to save electricity costs and ultimately increase the long-term profitability of this miner.

6. Can I mine other coins apart from Bitcoin with the T9?

Unfortunately, the Antminer T9 is only designed to mine cryptocurrencies that are created using the SHA-265 algorithm. However, apart from Bitcoin, there are a bunch of other coins that are made with the SHA-256 algorithm. These include:

  • Namecoin
  • Peercoin
  • Terracoin
  • 21coin

These are only a few of the many other available coins to mine. Keep in mind that you can always use an exchanger to change your Bitcoins to other cryptocurrencies as well.

7. What do I need to get started with the Antminer T9?

First of all, it's pretty straightforward to get started with the Antminer T9. All you need is a reliable power supply unit, an internet connection, and the cables that go with the hardware; it's really that simple! It can also be a plus to set up your miner in a place that is far away from the living area of your home as it tends to produce noise and heat while hashing away, and of course,  in an environment with temperatures below 350C to keep it cool without using too much power.

8. How can I set it up?

Good question! After you have connected all the cables and you are ready to power it up, you can go to your browser to start the setup process. You can start by going to the Bitmain site to locate your miner's IP address. From there the control panel page will guide you through setting up your own password and linking your own Bitcoin wallet to start getting your Bitcoin deposited to your account. Remember, you can always contact Bitmain’s customer service in case of a problem.

9. How long will the T9 remain profitable?

This is a hard one since it is really never that easy to predict how long a miner can stay profitable, especially with the constant changes that are happening in the blockchain industry. But don’t be alarmed, because the recent Bitcoin exchange rate is at an all-time high and seems to be going up. This means that miners can make better returns on their investment if the level of difficulty in mining stays the same. Generally, you can expect the T9 to stay profitable for the next 12 months but this might be subject to change.

10. Does it come with a warranty?

Definitely! The Antminer T9 comes with a warranty that is much better than its predecessor the S9.  With the T9 you get a generous 180-day warranty that is twice as good when compared to the S9's 90-day warranty. Now that's what we call a good deal!
