EP.32 Building Cryptocurrencies that Last - Sebastian Schepis

Launching an ICO has become commonplace, but launching bigger altcoins dates back several years before ICOs took off. In this interview, I talk with Sebastian Schepis, one of the Co-Founders of Syscoin and the current CIO for Blockchain Foundry. Sebastian shares the journey of creating Syscoin which started small, ballooned to a top 100 market cap cryptocurrency, and now has adjusted to more ICO familiar numbers.

Sebastian also details what it takes to launch ICOs and new currencies today, and what he thinks the future of cryptocurrency looks like. With so much noise in the space, it can be difficult to understand the history of the technology and the difference between ICOs, altcoins, and other blockchain powered solutions. That's why it's helpful to take some time to connect with experts and founders of currencies to help understand the nuances of various blockchain applications. If you've ever asked, “Why are there so many cryptocurrencies?” or if you are interested in what kinds of new tokens will be successful in the long haul, give this episode a listen!

What you will learn in this episode:

  • The difference between Altcoins and ICOs.
  • How you can build a successful digital currency.
  • What the future of token and altcoin markets holds for everyone.
