This interview is part of our new Blockchain In Education series, where we interview the world's leading thought leaders on the front lines of the intersections between blockchain and education.

In this interview we speak with Itay Shechter, Co-founder of Vanywhere, to understand how his company is using blockchain to transform the education business, and what the future of the industry holds.

Itay Shechter

1. What's the story behind Vanywhere? Why and how did you begin?

IS: It started when I was the head of a media department in a top digital agency in Tel Aviv. Friends reached out to me and asked for my advice. I was happy to assist. Then they started referring other people, friends of friends and people who were even willing to pay me for my time. I realized that I'm sharing my skills with my close circles, but I could probably help other people around the globe that have the same questions.

We believe that in the 21st century anyone should be reachable. That includes leaders of industries and influencers. If you want to talk to someone, you should be able to do that. That's why we've created Vanywhere.

2. Please describe your use case and how Vanywhere uses blockchain:

IS: Vanywhere is a live video, voice, and chat platform that enables creators to interact 1-on-1 with their followers while getting paid by the minute for their time.

We are creating a new, meaningful way that deepens their relationship with their followers and leverages their unique knowledge and passions.

We opened a blockchain category where we feature influencers from the field, including YouTubers and even VC and investors. They're able to connect with their fans and communities on a live video call. These calls are a new way of consuming education on a personalized base – interacting with leaders in the field, engaging  with them and asking questions.

3. Could you share a specific customer/user that benefits from what you offer? What has your service done for them?

IS: Bitcoin Ben is one of the YouTubers we feature in our blockchain category. He has already done hundreds of calls with his community members, and the fans are grateful for the opportunity to connect with him whenever they choose.

Here's an example of some of the reviews he recently got:

4. What other blockchain use cases in the education industry are you excited about?

IS: There are many different use cases that we can expect to see adopted in education. There's a lot of paperwork and old fashioned standards in high education that would easily be replaced

with a trusted blockchain solution that will become the new standard. Looking forward to seeing that enroll in a few years.

5. Where will Vanywhere be in 5 years?

IS: In five years, Vanywhere will provide access to actors, business leaders, influencers, athletes, stars, and artists with anyone who wants to connect and learn from them.
